Job Summary

The Payments Management & Execution Support Associate/Senior Associate for Middle East and Africa is a pivotal position to drive forward the ambitious growth plans of J.P. Morgan Payments MEA along with supporting the various transformation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help develop and execute the J.P. Morgan Payments MEA strategy working closely with the Head of Growth and Transformation for MEA Payments
  • Participate and achieve critical follow ups from internal management and client meetings – where required, provide effective, timely call notes and project plans to ensure follow-up execution
  • Co-ordinate a complex network of internal stakeholders to deliver large scale business growth programmes forward and ensure timely upward management
  • Build detailed financial plans & business cases for new growth opportunities to enhance and monetise strategy to dive across new client segments, industry lines or product initiatives
  • Support Corporate Development / Strategic Investments with key partners in the region – including developing market opportunity heatmaps, investment buy/build/partner assessments and deal execution
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments, to identify business opportunities and provide insights to J.P. Morgan teams to convert these into concrete solutions, leveraging J.P. Morgan Payments’ suite of products and services, with due consideration given to the regulatory environment in the region/countries
  • Create materials for business reviews and other executive leadership presentations to articulate strategic direction, execution, and performance tracking for internal stakeholders and functional partners.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understand the principles of transaction banking, its goals in terms of people/technology/balance sheet, and its risks (Client/product/operational/strategic)
  • Demonstrate relevant prior experience in supporting leadership teams in devising transformational strategies, within Business Management, Strategy or Management Consulting disciplines
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to absorb data and translate them into actionable outcomes
  • Demonstrate proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while delivering on time
  • Partner collaboratively with business partners and cross-functional support areas
  • Communicate with partners and clients and demonstrate your excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage difficult conversations and to deliver a consenting view
  • Navigate through ambiguity and communicate efficiently.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proven track record in (i) driving business growth (ii) delivering the strategy & execution for complex programmes (iii) successful engagement into a global matrix-driven organization with multiple stakeholders, preferably within a large global organization
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients (incl. at the C-level) and J.P. Morgan senior management.
