About the role

Education Development Trust (EDT) are seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to join their Dubai-based team to support the Finance and Administration Manager. EDT has a regional hub based in Dubai which provides financial, accounting and operational support to projects across the region. The position will be responsible for providing primary accounting and financial administration support to the regional hub. The role holder will ensure that financial records and transactions are undertaken and maintained in accordance with EDT internal controls environment, specific project requirements, and in compliance with regulatory requirements in UAE.

• Please note this role is based in our Dubai office with a minimum 4 days a week in person.
• EDT offers sponsorship of working visa however is not able to offer relocation packages.

If you have the following qualifications and experience, wed love to hear from you:

• Degree in Accounting/Commerce or any other relevant field (Essential)
• or actively pursuing an accounting qualification – (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) –(Desirable)
• Experience in a financial administration/accounting role for a minimum of 1.5 years
• Experience of dealing with, and checking the accuracy of, large volumes of data including preparing and reviewing spreadsheets.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and regulations. •
• Good understanding and working knowledge of UAE financial regulations, including VAT regulations, from having worked in the region.

Previous experience of using our ERP System, Business World (formerly Agresso) would be a distinct advantage.
